Get Interviewed and Tell Us Your Story

Studies show that being published helps your career!

We’re looking for articles from individuals who are passionate about philanthropy — articles that inspire, inform and educate. You don’t need to have been published in the past; in fact, this a great way to get your name out! But you do need to know your subject matter.

What Makes Major Gifts Today Different?

Major Gifts Today is the first and only monthly that focuses on major gifts, planned gifts, and blended gifts. It is for nonprofit professionals who are proactive and take responsibility for their own success. Most importantly, it is geared for today’s busy executive: It is meant to be skimmed. Not read.

Our readers understand that the philanthropy landscape is always in a state of flux. The days of relying on golf tournaments and galas are numbered. “Siloed” giving is out; blended gifts are in. Our readers know it’s no longer acceptable to just plan to pursue planned gifts in the future. The future is now, tomorrow is here, and those who are not marketing all three forms of giving are falling behind, fast.

How to Submit

You can either write the article yourself, or we can interview you. Just let us know. If you prefer to write it yourself, see the simple guidelines below.

Your first step is to tell us your topic and why you think you should be published.  We’ll then be in touch with you within 10 days and set up an interview with our editor. Email the editor a synopsis of your idea. Indicate whether your story will be original or if it has been previously published elsewhere, such as in CASE Currents, Journal of Philanthropy, Planned Giving Today, etc.

After your interview has been approved, submit the following items:

  • A brief author bio (25 words or less)
  • A high-resolution headshot
  • A signed statement that your article is not plagiarized
